OXFORD

Named after the prestigious university, the Oxford shoe actually originated in Scotland. However, the dictates of fashion and unpredictability's of popularity meant that the style has seen significant change over the years - perhaps more so than any other shoe style. Originally, the Oxford shoe was a simple, formal leather shoe - which acted as an alternative to the traditional ankle-style boots students had worn for many years during study. Nowadays, Oxfords come in a range of materials, colours and finishes - making them versatile and ironically (given they were born out of uniform) unique.
